Q. How does the Calgary Stampede Chase the Ace draw work?

The Chase the Ace draw administered by Calgary Stampede is a raffle licensed by the Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis (AGLC) where individuals purchase ticket(s) for the opportunity to win up to 50% of the total money raised through the sale of Chase the Ace tickets.

One winner is selected from the tickets sold each day (or, in the case of the first draw only, the cumulative tickets sold July 5-9) and wins a guaranteed 25% of the Jackpot. That winner is also entered into a second draw to draw ANY ACE from a standard deck of cards to double their prize to 50% of the Jackpot. 

If NO ACE is drawn, the prize carries over to the next day of sales. 

If ANY ACE is drawn before the event ends, a new lottery license will begin with the jackpot reset to $0.  

Q. Where does the other 50% of the proceeds raised go?

The other 50% of the proceeds raised support the Calgary Stampede’s community programs, the Calgary Marching Show Band Association, and Rotary and Kinsmen-funded charities. To learn more about Calgary Stampede and our programs, please visit www.calgarystampede.com.

Q. Who is eligible to buy 50/50 draw tickets?

If you meet the following criteria, you are eligible to purchase 50/50 draw tickets:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older at the time of purchase
  • Must be located in the Province of Alberta at time of purchase
  • Calgary Exhibition and Stampede Limited personnel, defined as, Regular full-time employees Members of the Stampede Lotteries Committee and Stampede Board members ARE NOT PERMITTED to purchase lottery tickets. Members of a family living with Regular full-time employees a Lottery Committee member or Stampede Board member ARE NOT PERMITTED to purchase lottery tickets.

Note: Prior to the purchase of a ticket online, you will be required to verify your eligibility and that the information is complete and accurate.

Q. Can I play more than once in a draw?

Yes. You can purchase more than one ticket per draw.  

Q. What are the odds of winning?

The odds of winning the prize are based on the number of tickets sold.

Q. How is the winning number drawn?

A unique winning number is randomly generated and issued by the electronic raffle system out of the numbers purchased for that particular draw. The mechanism for selecting the winning number is a computer-based random number generator that has been certified by the AGLC.

Q. When is the winning number drawn and posted?

Ticket Sales close at 11:00:00 PM MT on the day of each draw. The number will be drawn by 11:30 PM and posted in the Winners section on this website.  Winners will also be posted to Stampede Lotteries social media accounts once they have been contacted

Q. How do I claim my prize?

If you have the winning number, please contact cslotteries@calgarystampede.com. We will also make reasonable attempts to contact the winner using the information provided at the time of purchase.

Q. Do I need to live in Alberta to play?

You do need to be located within the province of Alberta at the time of purchase of your online draw ticket to be eligible to play.

Q. How can I pay for my online ticket?

Our online website accepts the following payment types: Visa, MasterCard.

Q. I cannot access www.chasetheace.ca. What should I do?

Per AGLC regulations – please be advised that you must be located within the province of Alberta at the time of your purchase. Your device’s locations services must be turned on to verify your location prior to entry to the online sales platform--see below for technical help. Users must also agree to all Terms and Conditions outlined.

Q. I purchased a Chase the Ace ticket but did not get my numbers. What should I do?

If you purchased your Chase the Ace ticket but did not receive your numbers, please check your junk or spam folders in the event it was flagged by your email provider. If you still do not have your ticket numbers, contact info @calgarystampede.com  and our support staff will re-send your raffle numbers (some verification will be required). Note: resending of ticket numbers may not happen in time for the draw, however, if your transaction completed successfully, your numbers will still be part of the draw.
 

TECHNICAL HELP

Q. Why does www.chasetheace.ca require my location and/or why am I receiving the following prompt: Ex “www.chasetheace.ca would like to use your current location?"

Your current location is required to confirm eligibility. The raffle will be offered throughout the Province of Alberta (the "Raffle Area"). Void outside the Raffle Area and where prohibited by law, rule, or regulation.

Q. What if I already selected "Don't Allow"?

Reloading the page should cause you to be prompted to share your location again. If you have specified that you never want to share your location, you will need to go into your settings to allow. See below for instructions.

Q. What if I receive the following prompt "You must allow your browser to share your location to purchase tickets, please click "OK" to reload this page" then be sure to allow your browser to share your location to share your location when prompted"?

The browser should reload the page and ask you to share location upon loading. Note: In some browsers, the popup may say "close" instead of "OK"

Q. I entered the incorrect email and did not print my tickets, how can I get my tickets resent?

Please contact info@calgarystampede.com and request and our customer service team will email you a copy of your tickets. Note that this may not occur before the draw, however if the transaction completed successfully, your numbers will still be part of the draw

Q: What if I cannot purchase tickets on www.chasetheace.ca due to Location issues?

You may have told your browser to never share your location. You need to change that setting to allow sale.

Q. When I am trying to process a transaction it is not working? What can I do?

Please remember that when you are filling in the personal information at the checkout page the address you input must match the address of the Credit Card that will be used for the transaction. Please ensure all fields are inputted correctly.

Q. The site is not loading properly, and I am not able to get to the checkout page. What can I do?

Based on the browser you are on, please go to the settings then history and clear cookies and cache. Once completed please close the page, reopen and try again.


For iOS devices:
1) Go to the Settings App.
2) Go to Privacy.
3) Go into Location Services.
4) Ensure "Location Services" are on.
5) Scroll down and click "Safari Websites."
6) Make sure that Allow Location Access is set to "While Using the App."

Chrome has the same setting if you are using that instead.

For Android (though this may vary by version):
1) Go to Settings App.
2) Go to Location and make sure that it is on.
3) Go back to previous screen and go to Apps.
4) Go to Chrome.
5) Click Permissions.
6) Ensure that Location is enabled.
Note: If still experiencing problems, go to maps.google.com in your browser and see where it places you.
